1. General Refund Policy

At Classorium, we strive to provide exceptional value to language educators. Our refund policy is designed to be fair while protecting our business sustainability and ensuring continued service quality for all users.

General Rule: Subscription fees are billed in advance and are generally non-refundable, except in the specific circumstances outlined below or as required by applicable law.

2. Free Trial Period

2.1 Trial Terms

We offer a 3-day free trial with limited features. During this period:

  • No payment is required
  • You may cancel at any time without charge
  • Access automatically expires after 3 days unless you upgrade
  • No refund is applicable as no payment is taken

2.2 Post-Trial Billing

If you choose to upgrade to a paid plan after your trial, billing will commence according to your selected subscription plan. The trial period does not extend your refund eligibility for paid subscriptions.

3. Refund Eligibility

3.1 Technical Issues

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • Our service is unavailable for more than 48 consecutive hours due to technical issues on our end
  • You experience persistent technical problems that prevent you from using core features, despite our support team's assistance
  • We are unable to resolve documented service issues within 14 days of your first report

3.2 Billing Errors

We will provide full refunds for:

  • Duplicate charges
  • Charges made after a properly processed cancellation
  • Unauthorized charges (subject to investigation)
  • Charges for incorrect plan or billing cycle

3.3 Legal Requirements

Refunds will be provided as required by applicable consumer protection laws, including but not limited to UK consumer rights regulations.

4. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will generally not be provided in the following situations:

  • Change of mind or no longer needing the service
  • Failure to use the service or generated content
  • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality (within normal parameters)
  • Account termination due to violation of our Terms of Service
  • Requests made more than 30 days after the charge
  • Partial usage of the billing period (except for billing errors)
  • Technical issues on your end (internet connectivity, device compatibility, etc.)

5. Cancellation Policy

5.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time through:

  • Your account settings in the Classorium app
  • Contacting our support team at info@classorium.com
  • Following the cancellation link in your billing emails

5.2 Cancellation Effects

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
  • You will retain full access to paid features until the billing period ends
  • No further charges will be made
  • Your account will automatically downgrade to free tier limitations
  • Generated content will remain accessible in your account

5.3 Reactivation

You may reactivate your subscription at any time. Previous generated content and collections will remain available when you upgrade again.

6. Refund Process

6.1 How to Request a Refund

Step 2: Include your account email, subscription details, and reason for refund request

Step 3: Provide any relevant documentation (screenshots, error messages, etc.)

Step 4: Allow up to 5 business days for our team to review your request

6.2 Review Process

All refund requests are reviewed individually. Our team will:

  • Verify your account and billing information
  • Review your usage and any reported issues
  • Assess eligibility based on this policy
  • Respond within 5 business days with our decision

6.3 Processing Timeframes

If your refund is approved, processing times are:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 business days
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Bank Transfers: 7-14 business days

7. Partial Refunds

In exceptional circumstances, we may offer partial refunds calculated on a pro-rata basis for the unused portion of your subscription period. This is at our sole discretion and typically applies only to:

  • Extended service outages beyond our control
  • Significant feature removals that affect your primary use case
  • Billing errors that result in overcharges

8. Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions are subject to the same refund policy with these additional considerations:

  • Refund requests must be made within 30 days of the initial charge
  • Partial refunds may be calculated based on months remaining in exceptional cases
  • The discounted annual pricing may affect pro-rata calculations
  • Annual subscribers receive priority review for technical issue refunds

9. Educational Institution Accounts

Educational institutions with special pricing or custom agreements may have different refund terms as specified in their individual contracts. Please contact our team for institution-specific refund policies.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you disagree with our refund decision:

  • We will conduct a secondary review within 10 business days
  • UK consumers may also contact Citizens Advice or relevant consumer protection agencies

11. Currency and Payment Methods

Refunds will be processed in the same currency and to the same payment method used for the original transaction. If the original payment method is no longer available, alternative arrangements may be made at our discretion.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Existing subscriptions will generally be governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase for the duration of that billing period.
